It can be difficult finding Physician's or Surgeons who are willing to work with our children once they hear the "RARE Trisomy" diagnosis. Some in the medical field feel it is not ethical to treat a child that they consider incompatible with life.

Families on this LWT13 website in some cases had wonderful support and others not so much so... You can easily contact any family who is local to your location using the website SEARCH page. Also you can tap into other resources through the Global SOFT network  and the social media sites Facebook Trisomy 13- Patau Syndrome  and The Trisomy 18/13 Journey

Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine - Why might a patient wish to be referred to a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist? Most women seek consultation from or care by a Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialist because they "at risk" and considering becoming pregnant or because they are pregnant and "high risk", "complicated", or otherwise worried about their pregnancy.
