About this Web Site

February 2006 - A year of Growing in Love

In September of 2004 I was  contacted by three different families within the same week who had terminated their trisomy 13 child.  They were told there was no hope or sense in bringing their child to term and giving birth with the “incompatible with life” diagnosis.
(All were encouraged by the those around them to end the pregnancy) I began searching the internet for “living trisomy 13” children - looking for long term survivors. I knew there must be more out in the world as we had two other living  Patau Syndrome children in our county.

Having a website for our own journey since March of 2001, I knew we could create a page specifically for trisomy 13 family support.  By October we had 8 families on a page off our Healing Power of Prayer site. Sweet Gabriella was one of our first newborn babies who found our pages. Just a month old,  we were so happy to have met a family in the early stages of the trisomy journey.  Sadly Gabriella’s time on earth was to be short, she would be our first Treasured Memory. Gabriella was our first Angel to go home to heaven and while deciding exactly how the new memory page would be created, we met Maria’s mom  - Pamela.

Trisomy 13 Child Maria held by mom PamelaPam sent us a beautiful photo holding her sweet child. Cherishing each precious moment with her child, who’s life was all too brief....  With that Photo, the new web site was inspired and created.  “Living with Trisomy 13”  and the Treasured Memories of Gabriella, Maria, Kia and Katie would soon start the full page of living angels that you see today.

On our 1st year Anniversary of the websites creation, we celebrate new lives, siblings of our trisomy angels.  Siblings to bring their families' joy and love – and to continue their families' journey of living with a trisomy 13 diagnosis. Gabriella’s brother, Lucian Michael Harmon; and Maria’s brother, Nathaniel Robert Sullivan.

Please join us in prayer daily for all of our Trisomy families as we celebrate each unique life.  May God give us the courage we need,  to continue the journey before us, as we learn to Grow in Love with our sweet miracles of life.
