"They decided to induce me on the due date; ALEXIS was born on March 28, 2002 weighing 9LBS and extremely healthy."

We were mis-diagnosed with Mosaic Trisomy13 in utero by Alpha Fetal
protein test and Amnio. We were given grim diagnosis and horror
stories of survival. My OBGYN told us if we did not abort (Over the
phone ) he was unable to treat me as a patient any longer.
We had
gone to have a sonogram done prepared to terminate because we did
not want to have our child be in pain for the rest of their lives,
and when they put the picture up on the TV she was sucking her thumb
n the womb. We believe that was our sign not to go thru with it.
I
found a high risk doctor who treated me but never gave me any
indication that he had high hopes for us. Thru the whole pregnancy I
was told she was not gaining weight and was not doing well. Going
thru a pregnancy with these emotions was extremely hard on us .
They
decided to induce me on the due date; ALEXIS was born on March 28,
2002 weighing 9LBS and extremely healthy.
Today Alexis is 7 yrs old and in the second grade. She is the
happiest child you would ever want to meet and everyone calls her
"SMILEY" She has no developmental delays and I can count on one hand
how many times she has actually been sick.
She has recently started
with migraines, which is why I found this site to see if somehow
could be related. I wish I had found this site when I was pregnant
because the sites that were out there did not give me much hope.
